Store and service terms

These terms apply to downloadable products and document services bought from Driver Handbooks. The seller is Box 4 Digital Group Ltd (company number 17253991), trading as Driver Handbooks, Suite 114B, Business First, Daveyfield Road, Blackburn BB1 2QY.
What you receive
Each product page, quotation or written scope identifies the included file formats, documents and services. Download products are generic operator templates with editable placeholders. They are not a bespoke handbook, legal opinion or substitute for a competent transport manager reviewing the way your operation actually works.
Bespoke document services
Driver Handbooks also designs and builds complex operational handbooks, policies, procedures, registers and evidence systems intended to work across an operator’s activities. Depending on the agreed scope, this work is prepared or reviewed with input from experienced transport managers. Our role is transport-compliance document support. We are not a firm of solicitors and, unless a separate written engagement expressly says otherwise, we do not provide legal representation, reserved legal services, advocacy or expert-witness services.
The quotation or written scope controls what is included. Work outside that scope, including site visits, implementation, training, audits, regulator correspondence, hearing preparation, evidence review or attendance at a court, tribunal, Public Inquiry or other hearing, requires a separate written agreement.
Your information and approval
Our work depends on complete, accurate and current information from you about the legal entity, operator licence, undertakings and conditions, operating centres, vehicles, work, people, systems, contracts, incidents and risks. You must tell us promptly if relevant facts change or if supplied information is incomplete.
You remain responsible for checking that the final documents reflect the operation as it is actually run, resolving marked decisions and placeholders, obtaining internal approval, issuing the correct controlled version, briefing affected people, providing resources, monitoring implementation and retaining evidence that the system works. A document alone does not prove compliance.
Your licence
Payment grants the purchasing operator a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to edit and use the files within one legal entity, across that entity’s own operating centres, vehicles and workforce. You may print or distribute completed internal versions to your own drivers, managers, auditors and professional advisers.
You must not resell, sublicense, publish, upload to a shared template library, remove our copyright notice from unedited originals, or distribute editable source files to another operator. Consultants buying for more than one client need a separate licence for each client unless we agree a wider written licence.
Your responsibility before issue
You must replace every marked placeholder, delete irrelevant options, insert your actual arrangements, allocate named responsibilities, check dates and review the final document against current law, licence undertakings and local practice. Do not issue a template unchanged merely because it looks complete.
Regulatory, legal and evidential limits
Our documents are informed by practical transport-management and compliance work, including experience of DVSA investigations, Public Inquiries and Traffic Commissioner hearings. We will perform agreed services with reasonable care and skill, but no handbook, policy, template or review can guarantee compliance, legal validity for every purpose, admissibility as evidence, an operator-licence decision or the outcome of an investigation, hearing or proceeding. Law, official guidance, scheme standards and the facts of an operation can change.
Before giving a document to DVSA, a Traffic Commissioner, a court, tribunal, insurer or other authority, or relying on it in actual or anticipated proceedings, obtain advice on the particular facts from an appropriately qualified solicitor or barrister and, where relevant, a competent transport manager or other specialist. Preserve the approved version, source records, briefing evidence and implementation records. Unless separately agreed in writing, Driver Handbooks and Box 4 Digital Group Ltd are not obliged to attend, give evidence, accept service, correspond with an authority or act on your behalf.
Prices, payment and delivery
The price and any tax shown at checkout or in an accepted quotation form the amount payable. Payment is taken through the available secure payment provider. A paid download order normally receives immediate access by the order-confirmation page and email. Access may be delayed while a payment or fraud check is completed. Service timescales and dependencies are those stated in the accepted written scope.
Digital cancellation consent
For instant access, a consumer must expressly request supply during the 14-day cancellation period and acknowledge that the cancellation right is lost when the download begins. Rights relating to faulty or misdescribed digital content remain. See our refund and cancellation policy.
Compatibility and access
Editable Word files require software capable of opening DOCX; spreadsheets require XLSX-compatible software; PDFs require a PDF reader. Keep your own secure copy after purchase. We may impose a reasonable download limit to protect the files and can restore access for a genuine purchaser where reasonably possible.
Liability
Nothing in these terms excludes or restricts liability or rights that cannot lawfully be excluded or restricted, including applicable statutory rights, liability for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or death or personal injury caused by negligence.
Subject to those protections and to any legal test of fairness or reasonableness that applies, we are not responsible for loss caused by incomplete or inaccurate information supplied to us; issuing an unadapted template; ignoring marked review points; failing to implement, brief, monitor or follow the adopted system; unauthorised changes; using a document outside its agreed scope; relying on a superseded version; or a change in law, guidance, licence terms or operational facts after the applicable review or handover. This does not exclude responsibility where we have failed to use the reasonable care and skill required by law or the agreed service.

Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. A consumer may also have mandatory rights in the part of the UK where they live.
