How can we help?

Send a straightforward question, flag an urgent compliance issue or ask us to call you back.

Ways to reach us

The quickest way to contact Driver Handbooks is by phone on 0208 088 8371. You will speak to a consultant, not a call centre, so if your question is technical you can ask it straight away. If we are with a client when you call, leave a message and we will ring you back.

Prefer to write? Email info@driverhandbooks.co.uk with as much or as little detail as you like. For anything involving a costed proposal, the quote page is the faster route, but plenty of good working relationships have started with a two line email.

Our office is at Suite 114b, Business First, Davyfield Road, Blackburn, BB1 2QY. Visitors are welcome by appointment, and we work with operators across the UK both on site and remotely, so distance is never an obstacle.

Hours and response times

The office is open Monday to Friday, 09:00 to 17:00. Emails arriving outside those hours are picked up the next working day, and we aim to respond to every enquiry within one working day, usually much faster.

If you are dealing with something urgent, a DVSA encounter this week, an investigation letter, or a public inquiry date, say so in your message or when you call, and we will prioritise accordingly. Those situations move quickly and we treat them that way.

What to have ready

You do not need anything prepared to contact Driver Handbooks; a rough description of the problem is enough to start. That said, the first conversation goes further if you can tell us your fleet size and vehicle types, whether you hold an operator licence and in which traffic area, what documents drivers currently sign for, and anything that prompted the call: a prohibition, an audit date, a visit letter or simply a nagging doubt.

Whatever you share stays confidential, and there is no charge and no obligation attached to an initial conversation. People contact Driver Handbooks to think a problem through as often as to buy something, and we are comfortable with that.

Quick answers

Questions operators ask us

Is the first conversation really free?

Yes. The initial call or email exchange costs nothing and carries no obligation. If the work needs a paid engagement we will say so plainly and put the price in writing before anything starts.

Do you cover the whole of the UK?

Yes. We are based in Blackburn, Lancashire, and work with operators throughout England, Scotland and Wales, on site where the job needs it and remotely where it does not.

Can drivers or transport managers get in touch, or only operators?

Anyone in the industry is welcome to call. We regularly hear from transport managers building a case for better systems and from drivers with questions about what they have been asked to sign. We will always tell you honestly whether we are the right people to help.
